COGNIFOG 5th Plenary Meeting in Madrid
The COGNIFOG consortium recently convened in Madrid, hosted by ATOS, for a two-day Plenary Meeting focused on the latest advancements in AI-powered edge-cloud computing.
Day 1: Technical Developments and Strategic Planning
The first day was dedicated to reviewing the progress of the COGNIFOG platform, ensuring that its architecture and functionalities align with real-world needs. Partners presented updates on system components, including AI-driven orchestration, security tools, data management, and connectivity enhancements. Live demonstrations showcased new developments, such as real-time monitoring and orchestration tools for optimising resource management.
Later, the discussions shifted to the integration of different system components and how they work together to create a seamless edge-cloud continuum. Partners also explored trial preparations, focusing on deployment challenges, data flow optimization, and defining key performance indicators to measure success. In the final sessions, partners strategized on how to maximize project impact, including dissemination efforts, standardization contributions, and industry collaborations.
Day 2: Trial Workshops and Future Roadmap
The second day featured interactive trial workshops, where partners addressed technical challenges, implementation strategies, and evaluation metrics for the different pilot deployments. These discussions were essential in refining how the COGNIFOG platform can be effectively applied to diverse domains, including urban management, e-health, and smart manufacturing.
The meeting concluded with a synthesis session, where partners aligned on next steps for further development, upcoming pilot implementations, and future dissemination activities. The day wrapped up with a filming session, capturing insights from partners and showcasing COGNIFOG’s progress and impact.
Bringing the Team Together Over Dinner
Beyond the structured sessions, the COGNIFOG Social Dinner provided a great opportunity for partners to connect in a more informal setting, strengthening relationships and fostering collaboration. This gathering reinforced the teamwork and shared vision driving the project forward.
