COGNIFOG at the 4th Hellenic Biocluster (HBio) Forum: Advancing Telemedicine & E-Health Innovation

The 4th Hellenic Biocluster (HBio) Forum, a leading event in biotechnology and healthcare innovation, took place in Athens, Greece, bringing together key industry stakeholders, researchers, and innovators. Telematic Medical Applications (TMA) participated as a Platinum Sponsor, showcasing their cutting-edge telemedicine solutions and their role in the COGNIFOG project.

At their booth, TMA demonstrated how their e-health technologies are transforming healthcare through advanced medical IoT solutions, AI-powered analysis, and cloud-edge computing. Participants had the opportunity to learn about COGNIFOG’s contributions to the future of telemedicine, with over 250 event attendees receiving COGNIFOG flyers detailing the project’s innovations.

TMA’s Role in COGNIFOG: Pioneering E-Health Services in the Edge-Cloud Continuum

Within the COGNIFOG project, TMA is leading Trial 2 – E-Health Services in the Edge-Cloud Continuum, focusing on enhancing medical IoT connectivity and real-time health monitoring.

Objective

The trial aims to integrate medical IoT devices with TMA’s “Noah Ark of Health” (NoAH) Telemedicine Station, utilizing COGNIFOG’s Cognitive-Fog architecture to provide:

  • Self-management evaluation notifications for patients
  • Cloud-based AI processing for personalized health assessments
  • Reliable telemedicine services in remote or unstable network conditions

Medical IoT Kit

TMA has developed a custom medical kit that includes:

  • Blood pressure monitors
  • Oxygen level sensors
  • Blood marker analysis devices
  • Temperature and weight measurement tools
 

COGNIFOG’s Impact on E-Health
By leveraging edge computing, this trial ensures faster, more reliable medical assessments, even in challenging environments such as remote worksites or rural healthcare facilities. The real-time processing of patient data at the edge reduces dependency on cloud connectivity, improving efficiency, security, and accessibility of telemedicine solutions.
