Webinar on Technical Components: Strengthening the COGNIFOG Trials

Designed as a hands-on training session, the webinar provided a detailed walkthrough of the COGNIFOG architecture and the technical building blocks that power the cloud–edge–IoT continuum. Experts from the consortium guided participants through the testing infrastructure, service deployment workflow, and the internal tools required for orchestrating distributed applications.

A significant part of the session explored underutilized components—such as behavioural analysis mechanisms, model visualisation features, and orchestration interfaces—to ensure that pilots can take full advantage of the platform’s capabilities. This helped clarify how these components interconnect and how they can support advanced features such as self-awareness, adaptive behaviour, and secure edge–cloud interactions.

The webinar also presented the end-to-end data flow for each pilot domain—urban management, e-health, and smart manufacturing—highlighting how information is collected, processed at the edge, and integrated into cloud-based analytics. This allowed partners to better understand deployment dependencies, communication pathways, and performance considerations.

Finally, the session outlined the methodology for evaluating pilot KPIs, ensuring that each deployment will generate meaningful evidence on latency improvements, resource efficiency, reliability, and the practical benefits of the COGNIFOG framework.

This internal webinar played a key role in aligning the pilot teams, reinforcing their understanding of the technical stack, and ensuring a smooth and coordinated rollout of the COGNIFOG trials.
